Serving the world and building God’s church is the calling of every follower of Jesus! God has invited everyone following Him to serve others with their ambitions and gifts. This calling is unlike any other as it is empowered by God and expressed to God through living a life of extravagant worship. It is then expressed horizontally through loving others in all the ways Jesus did.
OVF Door Holders
At Overflow, we don’t just have volunteer positions or titles for people to earn. On the Overflow Team, we are all Door Holders, people who have experienced God's love and are now committed to holding the door open so that others can experience God’s love and provision and begin to walk in Jesus's way.
What it means to be a Door Holder
We believe that every Jesus follower is called to serve, to lay down their life for the good of others. No person's gift or contribution is greater than the other because God is the reason and the source of any contribution we make. Every person who serves in the Church has a common title, door holder. For generations, churches have empowered people to stand at the front of their church building and physically hold the door for people as they arrive. Every person on the Overflow Team's first role is to serve as a door holder. We must humble ourselves to the position of a door holder and clear the pathway for everyone on planet Earth to come inside the family of God and experience the love of God.
